My name is Norman Sellar, and I serve as the Treasurer and Trustee at the Consett Rotary Club. Each year, we at Consett Rotary organise an annual outing for disadvantaged children. This year, a total of 27,000 children across Great Britain participated in similar events, and in the northeast, we organised a trip to The Beamish Museum, where we hosted 1,000 children from 13 local schools.
Since 1990, the partnership between the Rotary Club and the charity Kids in Mind has been facilitating such trips throughout the UK. Kids in Mind provides opportunities for disadvantaged children to enjoy a day where they can simply be children and temporarily escape the challenges they face, whether they come from a background of domestic violence or live in poverty. We believe that every child deserves joy and happiness, and we are committed to making this vision a reality through our efforts.
We have made a significant impact on the lives of local children, and with your company’s generous support, we can expand our reach even further. At present, we are seeking donations of £5 per child to sustain this important work, and we believe that partnering with your organisation could help us achieve even greater success.
Our goal is to raise £5,000 to allow us to take 1,000 children to Beamish again next year. The Beamish Museum has kindly agreed to maintain a reduced entrance fee of £10, and the Rotary Club will cover half of this cost. By supporting our cause, your company will not only provide these children with a memorable and educational experience, including an ice cream treat, but it will also gain increased visibility and be associated with a trusted and impactful organisation. We would work in collaboration with both Consett and Beamish Magazines to ensure that your company is positively recognized, and if you wish, there could be opportunities for your company’s participation in the event in return for your contribution.
