Can you believe it's already been 2 whole years since we officially launched Durham Coffee?!
In April 2020 we let the cat out the bag and first introduced our new business venture Durham Coffee - Durham's first speciality coffee roastery. Sourcing only speciality graded coffee beans to guarantee a sustainable and ethical supply chain as well as premium quality coffee for our customers, we created our core Heritage Range of 7 coffees to celebrate the rich heritage of Durham and the North East. On May the 31st we then officially opened our website and online store for orders, and what a ride it's been so far.
From collaborating with some amazing Durham Businesses such as Durham Brewery to create a Collab Coffee Porter, to teaming up with Beamish Museum and Willowburn Hospice to roast them their own bespoke coffee blends, we feel lucky to get work with so many wonderful people who are just as passionate about supporting local, quality and community.
We’ve happily settled into our little unit in Sacriston and look forward to welcoming more people through our doors, whether it be to join us on one of our fun Coffee Lover’s Courses, or just to pop in for a coffee, a chat and a wee nosy at Aeolus our amazing Air Motion Roaster - a technology from South Africa which we’re excited to be pioneering here in the UK.
We’ve come a long way since the start of the pandemic two years ago and we want to thank each and every one of you for your continued support and belief in us. Thank you to our collaborators, retailers, farm shops, cafes and B&B's etc . . . and of course all you lovely lot at home - we've made some wonderful connections along the way and feel truly blessed to have such an awesome Durham Coffee Community.
Here's to the next year and all the exciting projects that lie ahead!

Just a quick note to let you know that the last of our Organic Peruvian Charity Coffee has now been roasted. This limited edition coffee is currently our lightest roast, releasing lush juicy berry notes and leaving you with a lingering hazelnut sweetness. If you've not managed to grab yourself a bag yet, then now is your last chance because once it's gone, it's gone!
Also a reminder that this is a Charity Coffee so 20% of each bag sold will be donated to a local charity, which in the case of this wonderful Organic Peruvian Coffee, is St. Cuthbert's Hospice in Durham.
