This months networking meeting was held at Durham Cricket.
Thank you to Paul Sparks and the team at DiT for updating us all on the advantages of exporting - did you know that the North East contributes towards 50% of the UK's exporting activity!!! The DiT run regular free Export Academy events in the North East for SME's who are thinking about taking their first steps exporting.
Also, thank you to Jason Knights from Blue Kangaroo Design for sharing his remarkable export journey with us - how a small design agency in Gateshead won contracts with Disney, Pixar, Lucas Films and more!!
Last but not least we said goodbye to one of our longest running members today 😩 John Atkinson from NBSL is retiring at the end of the month and it's fair to say he'll be a huge miss at DBN and the North East business community in general. It's been a pleasure networking with you John and we wish you all the best in your retirement.
It's fair to say it was an inspirational morning and we look forward to seeing you all again at our next meeting on May 17th - the booking line will be opening soon.
