“The economic uncertainty surrounding Covid-19 has made it more important than ever for people to make sure their finances are properly looked after.”
At a time of unprecedented economic uncertainty, investors need trusted advice more than ever – and financial planner David Toner fits the bill with a wealth of experience.
David has been listed in both The Times and The Daily Telegraph lists for the UK’s top-ranked financial planners in 2019 and 2020. And what makes that particularly impressive is that the lists are based purely on reviews from clients.
Based in Newcastle, True Potential Wealth Management has more than £10 billion in funds under management, and has won multiple awards, including Business of the Year at the European Business Awards.
David was born in Shotley Bridge, and now lives in Lanchester, where he has been actively involved in establishing a coronavirus support group for the local community. His business experience includes running an adventure travel company in Australia, and successfully dealing in stocks and shares. That led to him moving into financial planning, undergoing extensive training, and setting up his own practice seven years ago.
“We believe there is a big advice gap because a lot of the banks have stopped giving it, or are severely restricted, so a lot of people who need advice simply aren’t getting it,” says David.
“What we offer is holistic planning, helping people to see the bigger picture, and setting goals to get them to where they want to be,” David doesn’t charge for that initial conversation – it is simply an opportunity to talk to someone with trusted credentials before making a decision about whether to invest in a financial plan. “Even if people feel they have enough knowledge, it’s reassuring to talk to someone who knows how financial planning works. We haven’t got a crystal ball, but we can give advice based on a lot of experience.”
David can advise on: savings and investments; retirement planning; tax, trust and estate planning; and mortgages and protection.
